Hello! My name is Rachel Troutman and I am a Quilter and Textile Artist living in Lykens, PA, the ancestral land of the Susquehannock People. 

My art quilts reflect my love of colors and curiosity.  As I continue to evolve and find my voice, I become more attracted to improv piecing. I love not knowing what I will end up with in the final composition, while also learning more about myself as an artist and a person. My source materials include new yardage and second hand clothes from Goodwill. As an artist with a chronic illness, I find my brain fog makes verbal communication difficult at times, so I use new and second-hand fabrics to help me express what I cannot put into words. Most of my work is made by hand.
